The Bluebird Word publishes new writing on a monthly basis, and we accept submissions year-round. Please consider sending your work for a future issue (details under Submit).
PUBLICATION CALENDAR FOR 2026:
February – November: New issue selections published on the first of each month. Submission are typically open year round in Submittable, unless advised otherwise.
December 2026 / January 2027 – The 2026 Winter Holiday Reflection Issue: We publish pieces the first of the month and rotate the work on the home page throughout the months. This will be a special and separate submission call in Submittable available in early October to mid-November 2026.
